Bring & Buy!

On 28th April 2025, the Committee of East and West Ardsley Allotment and Gardens Association appointed Diane Grant as President of our organisation. Diane has been a member for over 50 years and is a keen advocate of the Association. Before her retirement, Diane worked as a legal secretary and then as an Adult Education Teacher of embroidery. Now, when not in her garden, she can be found creating skilful and beautiful textile artifacts. Diane’s eye for detail and garden-fresh outlook brings a wealth of skills, experience and expertise, and we welcome her as President to the Association.
Also, welcome Anna Askew, as Treasurer. Anna, a committee member for several years, also manages the Association’s web site and if you are a Wednesday visitor to the Garden Shop, you will find her behind the counter, ready to help. A keen gardener and allotmenteer, Anna was formerly a special needs teacher and later worked within the international aid sector. Her skills and experience are sure to keep our finances in order and blooming!

In the morning,8-12pm, help is needed to set up the tables, assist the Show Secretary to book in exhibitors, support exhibitors to arrange their exhibits, and provide general help to prepare the Church Hall to receive afternoon visitors.
Later, 1pm -6pm, volunteers are needed to support the Judges whilst they undertake their judging, assist to convey the Judges decisions to the Show Secretary, then whilst the show is running, help visitors with any enquiries, and finally, when everyone has gone, help tidy the hall.
If you would like to join our friendly committee and help us to manage our association or you feel a few hours volunteering during the Flower Show is more suitable:

Sad News
Members who knew Edward Wiper will be sad to hear of his sudden death. A keen gardener and allotmenteer, Edward was well known for his smiles and humour. His funeral in Dewsbury was held recently. Following Edward’s death, the Association dedicated the annual Plant Sale to raise funds for the installation of an Emergency Defibrillator on Common Lane, East Ardsley.
